Fat Brands recently said it plans to add an additional 900 restaurants — all of which are signed and paid for, according to Dive Restaurant.
The fat brand, which now has 17 brands, has seen an increase in growth. Last year, the company acquired Twin Peaks, Native Grill & Wings, Fazoli’s, and Global Franchise Group, owner of Great American Cookies, Hot Dogs on a Stick, Round Table Pizza, Great American Cookies, Marble Creamery, and Pretzelmaker.
“As we integrate the eight new restaurant concepts we have acquired into the Grass Brands portfolio in 2021, we are seeing strong demand from our existing partners and new franchise partners to add our various brands to the restaurant portfolio,” CEO Andy Wiederhorn said via an return calls on July 28

In total, Fat Brands has 2,350 locations across its portfolio. The projected growth over the next five years would take it to 3,250. And some brands grow more than others.
For example, the “breast” chain of Twin Peaks is looking to add over 130 locations, with about 15 a year on average—starting now. Currently, it has 83 locations and is about to double in size. Other major brands under the Fat Brands umbrella, such as Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses, will see much slower growth.
The company is also converting all of its recently acquired locations Nestle Toll House Cafes on Great American Cookies In September of this year, effectively closing the previous chain for good.
“These stores will fold seamlessly into our live service division and will provide us with the ability to increase our business-to-business capabilities, a key growth objective,” Wiederhorn said in a statement.
